I just discovered AOL Chat, and what a fun place that is. I’ve not been big on chat rooms, unlike my brother, who spends virtually every waking moment off work in either a chat room or a game room. I stumbled onto AOL Chat while searching for something else, and was intrigued by the categories that they have, and the fact that some of them are pretty interesting to me. I think that I may join some of these AOL Chat rooms, and see if I can’t make some connections to people who have interests similar to mine.
Heaven help me if I get as bad as my brother, and start devoting too much time to cyber relationships instead of real ones. But it might be a good way to find someone locally who I could have lunch with from time to time locally. My social circle where I live is limited, and my closest friends lives hundreds of miles from me, so if I could meet someone in an AOL Chat room who lived in my home city, it would be really nice.
