Some people are confused with the difference between a message board and chatrooms. Message boards will allow you to post any time and the board will always be open and active. While some chat rooms are open all the time as well, some are only open for a few hours before being shut down from the lack of participants. Message boards are also found on certain websites, while chatrooms are available from many different areas such as AOL Chat or Yahoo. The biggest difference between the two is that chatrooms are real time while Message boards are posts that can be answered many days later.
